Tree Cabling and Bracing

Cabling and bracing of trees provides supplemental support to the structure of a tree. Cabling and bracing is performed to reduce the risk of failure of a certain tree part that our Arborists has determined to be weak by growth habit, species history or structural architecture.

Cabling systems are generally comprised of Drop Forged Galvanized Eyebolts and Extra High Strength steel cables installed 2/3 of the way up into the canopy of a tree from the defect.

Bracing or rodding is the installation of threaded rod in weak crotches or unions of the tree branches. Bracing helps to provide supplemental support to a tree during tortional forces applied to a tree during storms or wind events.

All supplemental support systems should be installed according the American National Standards Institute's A300 Standard for Tree Care Operations and inspected annually by a qualified arborist.
